Cincy Reigns and Rhinegeist Announce a Multifaceted Partnership

Co-branded beer, Cincy Light, to support NIL opportunities for student-athletes

CINCINNATI, Ohio (May 16, 2023)

Cincy Reigns, a Name, Image, and Likeness (“NIL”) fundraising collective that helps Bearcats’ student-athletes in all sports monetize their personal brands while supporting the Greater Cincinnati philanthropic community, announces a ground-breaking collaboration with Rhinegeist Brewery (RGB) to produce a unique co-branded beer.

The beer, Cincy Light, will be an easy-drinking light lager capturing the spirit of the Queen City. Cincy Light is a crisp and refreshing brew designed by the talented brewing team at Rhinegeist for tailgating, taking in a game, or unwinding with friends after a day of exploring the City of Seven Hills.

Rhinegeist remains dedicated to building lasting communities in Cincinnati with beer as a way to bring people together in support of their passions, and this joint effort with Cincy Reigns provides a unique avenue to merge Rhinegeist’s community focus with Cincy Reigns support for Cincinnati athletics. A portion of all retail sales from the collaboration will support NIL efforts for University of Cincinnati student-athletes. Fans of craft beer and supporters of UC athletics will be able to show support for the Queen City with a crisp, refreshing lager ideal for Cincy sporting events. Cincy Light will be available throughout Cincinnati where Rhinegeist is sold.

Cincy Reigns connects charitable organizations with community-oriented Cincinnati student-athletes eager to leverage their Name, Image, and Likeness for positive impact. The alliance with RGB demonstrates both entities’ dedication to community outreach and investment in Cincinnati’s student-athletes’ futures. In addition to the co-branded beer, the partnership will feature exclusive fundraising events at Rhinegeist in support of Cincy Reigns and other community initiatives with other fans of Bearcats and beer.

“We are thrilled to partner with Rhinegeist, a company that shares our passion for championing the Cincinnati community and bringing people together around a cause,” said Brian Fox, Chair of the Cincy Reigns Board of Directors. “This one-of-a-kind collaboration will not only produce a delightful beer for fans to appreciate but also significantly impact the lives of the student-athletes we serve and the local charities we endorse.”

For Fox and Cincy Reigns, this is a game-changing partnership that can elevate the Bearcats to the next level as they transition into the Big 12 this summer and aim to compete for championships as a newly minted “Power 5” program.

“Just as Bearcat student-athletes proudly represent the city on their uniforms, Rhinegeist does the same through its product with ‘Cincy Made’ featured on its cans,” Fox added. “This partnership is a testament to our shared commitment to the Cincinnati community and our desire to celebrate its spirit and support Cincinnati’s Power 5 program.” Adam Bankovich, Interim CEO of Rhinegeist Brewery, and a University of Cincinnati alum, shared his excitement about the partnership. “We are honored to join forces with Cincy Reigns Collective, an organization that shares our dedication to community engagement and support for Cincinnati,” Bankovich said. “Cincy Light offers not only a unique beer experience for fans, but also creates a positive impact on our community. As a long-standing partner of UC Athletics, we look forward to furthering our commitment to the city and the department. As a bonus, we have several UC graduates on our in-house design team, and they had an absolute blast working on this project!”

In 2013, Rhinegeist forged its first major partnership with UC Athletics through Bearcats Sport Properties and has continued to invest in the Bearcats ever since.
